Hey Reader!
Budgeting and good money management is important, right?
When we master it, good things happen:
You don’t have to worry about how or if your bills will be paid this week.
You can stop living paycheck to paycheck.
You can spend and give generously without feeling guilty.
You will feel aligned with your spending because your money is being used for what is most important to you.
You can finally take a second to breathe and be at peace with your money.
So what’s stopping us from buckling down and just getting started?
Maybe you’re feeling overwhelmed and not sure where to even start. Or maybe you have a partner who isn’t fully on board yet. Perhaps you feel shame or embarrassment about your situation and can’t even bear to face the numbers.
For me, I know I used to really get hung up because of my scarcity mindset. Where would the next paycheck come from? Would there be enough money this month? How would we have enough to cover all of our bills, let alone put anything into savings?
It wasn’t until I realized that there’s so much more to budgeting than just numbers. It’s more than math too (which I hated in middle school, btw). It is true that the basic concept of a sustainable budget is to spend less than you bring it, but putting that practice into reality is so much more complex than that.
There are layers to this money stuff that include your mindset, your relationship with money, your behaviors and actions in regards to money, and even your history with money. We each have a unique history with money that began on the day we were born - experiences and interactions that shaped the way we think and feel about money today. Those experiences are what affect how we interact with money today. Then you have to deal with your own headtrash, the habits you’ve built over years, (maybe even decades), and societal pressures on top of all that!
It’s no wonder it can be so hard to ‘just get started’, right?!?
But let me tell you something, friend.
Once you do get started and begin to see progress, you will have more power and control over your situation than you ever thought possible.
Once your spending is aligned with your priorities, you will feel at peace with your money unlike anything you’ve felt before.
And this is why I’m on a mission to help you take control of your money. I believe money should be a tool to help you achieve your biggest, wildest dreams — rather than an obstacle.
So here’s a tiny first step you can get started with today:
Allow yourself the space to dream for a minute. How would your life be different if you were in control of your money?
Don’t worry about how you might get there or what to do first, just imagine a life without money stress. What would your life look like? What does the greatest version of your life look like? Take five minutes to ponder these questions and write down what you envision. Or if you want to take another tiny step, grab a copy of my free workbook that will help guide you a bit further.
All this is really meant to say that I truly mean it when I say I want you to feel clarity and confidence with your money. I believe you can get there and I can’t wait to help you on your journey.
